Emote wheel: emotes above your head
Press the middle mouse button in the game and a wheel of emotes appears around your cursor. Scroll through the pages with the mouse wheel and click an emote to show it above your head to everyone nearby. Pressing the middle button again, Escape or clicking outside closes the wheel without sending.

Fights are visible in the world
Anyone currently fighting carries a battle icon above their head. Click them and the target window also shows which BitMon and level they are fighting. The BitMon itself stays in the world during the fight, faces its opponent and carries the icon as well.

Wild BitMonz only vanish after a win
When someone attacks a wild BitMon it no longer disappears right away. It is locked for others (message: already being fought) and only vanishes once the fight is won. If the player loses or flees, the BitMon is free again immediately. Nobody can take BitMonz away from you without actually beating them.

Sound when an achievement unlocks
Unlocking an achievement now plays a short fanfare alongside the popup. Its volume follows the SFX slider in the settings. If several achievements unlock at the same moment you deliberately hear a single sound instead of an overlapping chorus.

300 skills and new combat mechanics
With 137 new techniques the full arsenal of 300 skills is complete, spread across all 18 elements up to level 50, each with its own pixel icon, animation and sound. The combat system also learns seven new mechanics: life leech heals you for part of your damage, mana burn steals the enemy's mana, blood magic pays for skills with life, execute hits wounded targets all the harder, thorns throw suffered damage back, and purge and cleanse strip enemy buffs or cure your own afflictions. 19 of the new skills already use these mechanics, from Vampiric Night to the Orbital Press.
Feature

89 new skills
The skill arsenal grows from 74 to 163 techniques across all 18 elements, reaching all the way to level 50. Every element gains new attacks, area spells, shields, group buffs or heals, each with its own pixel icon, battle animation and sound, including eleven big level 50 techniques such as Supernova, Leviathan's Wrath and the Colossus Protocol. Matching skill modules are available from merchants, and many older skill descriptions now tell you more than just numbers.

Achievements on mobile
On mobile there is now a dedicated trophy button below the gear icon that opens the achievements window; previously this required the P key. The achievements entry is now also available in the ESC menu on every device.
Feature
2026-09-18
58 new achievements
The achievement catalog grows from 19 to 77 challenges, each with its own pixel icon. New is the Progress category with the level chain from level 5 to level 50, plus medium to hard goals across the board: victories and defeated species, gathering, cooking, programming, upgrading, data, BitPrints, badges, trading, coinz, chests and quests. Chain tiers are marked by bronze, silver or gold frames.

Battle: new interface and live weather
Battle plates now follow the game's technical design line: name, level and element icons sit on a dark plate, your character hangs beside your own BitMon's plate, and a bright trailing bar briefly shows damage taken. On top of that, the world's weather now carries into battle: if it rains outside, it rains in battle too, and thunderstorms flash across the field.

Auto-feed polished all around
Auto-feed now also kicks in right after reviving, so your BitMon does not walk off with half its HP. The settings window got simpler: a checked item means active, the extra switch is gone. Only items that actually restore HP or MP are listed, the list can be sorted by HP, MP or both just like manual feeding, and the save button always stays visible.

Real screenshots and a battle clip on the home page
The home page now shows the game itself instead of placeholders: a short clip from a real battle, the arena, and a slideshow through eight places in the world. Only what you actually see gets loaded. The video starts when its tile comes into view, and the slideshow images are fetched one at a time. All told the page now loads a fifth of what it did before, and the BitMonz strip at the bottom gets by on a tenth.
Update

New battle formation
Every fighter now stands on one ground line across the battlefield: large and up front on the outside, smaller and further back towards the middle. Nobody covers anyone else any more, every health bar stays clickable, and the skill bar at the bottom stays clear. The formation grows with your group: alone you stand near the middle, as a party of four you spread across the full width. Everything stays in the lower half of the screen, whether on 1280x720, 4K or a wide 21:9 monitor. On a phone in landscape the fighters now use the full height instead of crowding the bottom edge.

New home page, new BitMonPedia, test keys
The site has been rebuilt. The home page explains the game in four steps, and the tiles below show two sentences first with the full text behind a "More" toggle. The BitMonPedia is now purely about the BitMonz: large cards with the in-game background, element filters and a detail view with description and stats. New as well: you can request a test key and play BitMonz during the closed test phase. The form is on the home page.

Achievements, badges and stats on the P key
A new window collects everything you have achieved so far. The overview shows battles won and lost with your win rate, BitMonz defeated, your battle power, and what you have gathered, programmed and cooked. The achievements tab lists the challenges with progress bars and rewards; you can track up to three of them like a quest, and they appear at the right edge of the screen. The badges tab lists your arena badges with date, opponent and world. Unlocking an achievement shows a popup with its icon and reward, and the EXP, coinz and items go straight to you.
Feature

Multiple enemies, real target selection
Facing several enemies is now a real decision. One enemy carries the target marker: a ring on the ground that scales with the BitMon's size, plus an arrow above its head. Click or press Tab to switch targets. Skills with the Multi target type now hit every living enemy, the focused one at full force and the rest at half. If your target falls mid-cast, the focus jumps to the next living enemy automatically.

New pre-battle selection
Picking your BitMon before a battle is no longer a narrow bar. Your BitMonz now stand side by side on the battlefield with name, element, health and skills below them. Hovering makes your BitMon laugh, grow a little and adds a floating arrow marker. Boxes and hard lines are gone, the details sit freely on the field.
Update
2026-09-15
Trade window in the new style
The trade window now matches the look of the other game windows. The two currency fields sit side by side again instead of stacked, the offer list has a clear frame, and hovering an item shows the usual item box rather than a question-mark cursor.
Update
2026-09-14
New look applies instantly
Changing your look in the BitOS player card now updates your own character in the world right away. The prompt asking whether to reload the game is gone. Other players already saw the change instantly, and that stays the same.
Fix

Gathering now really requires the profession
Herbs, ore and wood could be gathered even without having learned the matching profession, and the chat even announced skill-ups that were never saved. From now on the node stays where it is unless you learned the profession from a teacher, and a skill-up is only announced when it actually counts. Skill-ups also stop at the maximum level you unlocked with your teacher.
Update

Bigger dialog box
The dialog box is noticeably bigger on desktop: more width, more text area, larger type and more room above the bottom edge of the screen. Story cutscene dialog now looks exactly like regular NPC dialog, with the same frame and the same name plate.

Fighters introduce their team
When you challenge an NPC fighter, the new battle intro shows their whole team: one BitMon after another jumps into view with name and level, and finally the fighter steps up and challenges you. You know what you are up against before the first move.
Feature

Chests and containers in the world
Chests, barrels and bags can now appear in the world, opened with E. Some can be emptied once by every player, others exist only once: first come, first served, and then it is gone for everyone. Inside you will find items, Coinz or Datadiscs, with luck deciding exactly what drops. If your inventory is full the chest stays closed until you make room. Keep your eyes open, too: some chests are secret caches that keep reappearing in a different spot. Whoever finds them first gets lucky.

Calmer play: auto-feed report only after battles
The auto-feed report now only shows up when you return from a battle instead of on every map change. Feeding still happens automatically in the background. Other players now move smoothly instead of jumping.
Update

Battle feel: new effects, sounds and screen shake
Every skill animation has been reworked: bigger, easier to read and placed precisely on the BitMon. On top of that, more than 80 freshly mixed skill sounds, hits that shake the screen, flashes and zoom on heavy attacks. Damage numbers now always stay visible above the effects.
Feature
2026-09-04
74 skills and new skill modules
The skill pack has arrived: 66 new attacks, buffs and heals across all elements, each with its own pixel effect. Your BitMonz now learn skills through skill modules, which you find and use as items. Battle balance has been retuned from the ground up.
Feature
2026-09-03
Multi-hit and channeled skills
Skills can now land several hits in a row, with spread and a variable hit count. Channeled attacks hold a beam on the target and tick over several seconds. Enemies get both as well, so watch out.
Update

Mailboxes, knee-deep grass and a new BitMon
Mailboxes in the world now open your mail right there. Tall grass swallows players, companions and items up to the knees, and leaves drift to the ground. Also new in Onia: the water BitMon Troepfling.
Feature

Arena battles against NPC trainers
Challenge trainers in the world to a duel. Each brings their own team, fights with a full skill set and rewards you with badges and loot when you win. Also new: auto-feeding for your BitMonz and roles like tank, healer or damage dealer.
Feature

Profession trainers like in classic MMOs
Cooking, herbalism, mining and fishing are now taught by trainer NPCs out in the world. They also raise your max level step by step from 50 up to 200 and sell new recipes and BitPrints for Coinz or Data Discs.

Big performance push
Three waves of under-the-hood optimization: fewer stutters, no more NPC jitter, leaner graphics uploads and smarter rendering. BitMonz now runs noticeably smoother, even on weaker devices.

New Circuit interface
The entire menu shines in a sci-fi circuit board design: inventory, BitMonz, professions and tooltips with traces, light pulses and a defrag animation that assembles every window from data blocks.
Feature

Revive & flashlight
Knocked-out BitMonz can now be revived right in the menu using Data Discs, based on level and rarity. And pressing F toggles a flashlight whose beam is visible to other players too.
Update

Sun rays, grass and elevation
The world feels more alive: soft sun rays fall through gaps in the clouds, GPU grass reacts to every step and plateaus now have real elevation levels.

Multi-stack inventory & ItemBank
Split stacks, merge them and store items in the BitOS ItemBank. Plus new container items and a tidy inventory with sorting.
